March 10th, 2018 -- South Cobb High School
PARKING: Most events take place in the Freshman Building on South Cobb's campus. There is a parking lot directly behind this building (off Clay Road). Alternatively, the main parking lot borders Austell Road.
The Division B State Tournament will be held on March 10th at South Cobb High School (1920 Clay Rd SW, Austell, GA 30106). The schedule of events is now posted below! An email will be sent to all coaches of qualifying teams on March 4th with the link to the Sign-Up Genius (password protected). Registration will open on March 5th at 8 pm when coaches will be emailed the password.
Gym Height for Wright Stuff: This is being run in a very large competition size 6A size high school gymnasium. There will be no entry or exit into the gym while flights are taking place.
Teams: Remember that your school qualified to bring 1 team of 15 students, not multiple teams.
Impound: Impound will run from 7:30 am until 8:15 am. This time frame is strict and no exceptions will be made if students are late. Additionally, only competitors are allowed in the impound area (the classroom or school space where the event occurs). If parents or coaches enter the impound area your team will be disqualified.
Communication Plan: Only head coaches may bring event issues to the attention of the Tournament Directors (Tracy Matthews and Christian Cali).
Parents and head coaches are not allowed to confront event supervisors with event concerns. Parents are also not allowed to contact the tournament director with questions concerning the tournament and specific events. Please inform your teams of this plan since not adhering to it could lead to disqualification of your team from an event or from the tournament.
Spectators at the tournament: There will be very little access to the events for spectators. Only event leaders, event volunteers and competing students will be allowed in the competitive areas. All hallways outside of the event doors will be clear of spectators, coaches, and parents prior to events beginning.
We will have volunteers keeping the competitive areas clear.
Food: Kona Ice will be selling treats during the day. Each team must make their own arrangements for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Other than Kona Ice, food will not be available for purchase on site. There are many take-out lunch options in close proximity to the school.
